大竹伸朗　独占インタビュー

1980年代初めに時代の寵児として華々しくデビューして以来、圧倒的な創作意欲で膨大な作品群を生み出し続けてきた現代美術家・大竹伸朗。そんな大竹が、2022年秋より、東京国立近代美術館で開催中の自身の大規模な回顧展に際し、本展を担当する同館主任研究員の成相肇を聞き手に、「既にそこにあるもの」と呼ぶテーマのもとに半世紀近く持続してきた自身の制作の軌跡と、その原点、そして本展への思いを語った。

Since his spectacular debut in the early 1980s, contemporary artist Shinro Ohtake has produced an enormous number of works with exceptional creative urge. This fall, his large-scale retrospective will take place at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. With curator Hajime Nariai, Ohtake shares his thoughts on this show, reflecting on nearly a half century under a theme he calls, “what’s already there.”

大竹伸朗 プロフィール

1955年東京都生まれ。1980年武蔵野美術大学造形学部油絵学科卒業。
2006年東京都現代美術館、2007年広島市現代美術館、福岡市美術館、2012年アートソンジェセンター（ソウル）、 2013年高松市美術館（香川）、丸亀市猪熊弦一郎現代美術館（香川）、2014年パラソルユニット現代美術財団（ロンドン）、2019年熊本市現代美術館、水戸芸術館現代美術ギャラリー（茨城）などにて個展多数。2012年「ドクメンタ（13）」（Karlsaue Park / ドイツ）、2013年「第55回ベネチア・ビエンナーレ国際美術展」（Central Pavilion / イタリア）、2016年ニュー・ミュージアム・オブ・コンテンポラリー・アート（ニューヨーク）、バービカン・センター（ロンドン）、2018年国立国際美術館（大阪）など多数出展。

Born in Tokyo in 1955. Graduated from the departments of oil painting,　College of Art and Design, Musashino Art University in 1980.
