李禹煥　独占インタビュー

国際的にも大きな注目を集めてきた「もの派」を代表する美術家・李禹煥。
その東京では初となる大規模な回顧展「国立新美術館開館15周年記念　李禹煥」が開催された。
『ONBEAT vol.17』では、作家本人へのインタビューを通じて、その長きにわたる人生と創作活動を振り返り、大回顧展の全貌と作家の実像に迫る。

Lee Ufan, an international contemporary artist and a prominent member of the Japan-based Mono-ha group.
A major restrospective by Lee Ufan is currently underway at the National Art Center, Tokyo.
Through an interview with him, we present his life and long creative activities along with images from the exhibition.

李禹煥 プロフィール

1936年韓国慶尚南道生まれ。ソウル大学校美術大学入学後、1956年来日、日本大学文学部で哲学を学ぶ。1960年代末から始まった戦後日本美術におけるもっとも重要な動向の一つ、「もの派」を牽引した作家として広く知られている。2005年横浜美術館（神奈川）、2011年グッゲンハイム美術館（ニューヨーク）、2014年ヴェルサイユ宮殿（フランス）、2019年ポンピドゥー・センター・メッス（フランス）などにて個展多数。2010年李禹煥美術館（香川）開館。

LEE Ufan Profile

Born in Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea in 1936. After attending Seoul National University, moved to Japan in 1956 and studied philosophy at Nihon University. Lee is known as a leading figure in Mono-ha, one of the most significant art movements in postwar Japan,
which emerged in the late’60s.
Solo exhibitions: 2005 Yokohama Museum of Art （Kanagawa）; 2011 Guggenheim Museum （NY）, 2014 Palace of Versailles （France）; 2019 Centre Pompidou-Metz （France）.
the Lee Ufan Museum （Kagawa） opened in 2010.
