対談：杉本博司×鈴木芳雄

“新しき知遇を得て、古きを温ねる”。美術ジャーナリストの鈴木芳雄が、現代の美術作品をもとに、その作品に直接・間接的に影響を与えたであろう、あるいは見る側の連想をかき立てる過去の美術作品を辿り比較検証する連載企画「鈴木芳雄の『知新温故』」。
その第ニ回は「杉本博司展 本歌取り」（姫路市立美術館）で展示中の新旧作品を題材に、現代美術作家・杉本博司の制作の根幹ともいえる「本歌取り」の美学を、作家本人へのインタビューに基づき、鈴木がひもとく。

We spoke with the fair’s director, Eri Takane, and the advisory board member, Takeo Obayashi, the Chairman of the Obayashi Corporation,to get a full overview of the fair.

杉本博司 プロフィール

1948年東京生まれ。立教大学卒業後、1970年に渡米、1974年よりニューヨーク在住。写真、彫刻、インスタレーション、演劇、建築、造園、執筆、料理などの活動分野に加え、近年は執筆、伝統芸能の演出、建築設計へも活動の幅を広げ、2008年に建築設計事務所「新素材研究所」、2009年公益財団法人小田原文化財団設立、2017年小田原文化財団 江之浦測候所オープン。2001年ハッセルブラッド国際写真賞、2009年高松宮殿下記念世界文化賞、2014年第1回イサム・ノグチ賞など受賞多数。2010年紫綬褒章受章。2013年フランス芸術文化勲章オフィシエ受勲。2017年文化功労者。主な著書に『苔のむすまで』『現な像』『空気間』『アートの起源』『江之浦奇譚』 『影老日記』

鈴木芳雄 プロフィール

1958年生まれ。慶應義塾大学法学部政治学科卒業。1982年マガジンハウス入社。ポパイ、アンアン、リラックス編集部などを経て、2001～2010年ブルータス副編集長。現在は雑誌、書籍、ウェブへの美術関連記事の執筆や編集、展覧会の企画や広報、美術を軸にした企業戦略のコンサルティングなどを手掛ける。共編著に『村上隆のスーパーフラット・コレクション』『光琳ART 光琳と現代美術』『チームラボって、何者？』『カルティエ、時の結晶』など。フリーランス編集者／美術ジャーナリスト、明治学院大学、愛知県立芸術大学非常勤講師。

Hiroshi SUGIMOTO Profile

Born in Tokyo in 1948.Graduated the Saint Paul’s University in Tokyo. Resident of New York City since 1974. His signature practice spans the mediums of photography, sculpture, installation, performing arts, architecture and garden design and his works are collected in some of the most prestigious museums of the world. Founded an architectural design office New Material Research Laboratory in 2008 and Odawara Art Foundation in 2009. Opened Enoura Observatory in 2017. Awards: 2001 the Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography; 2009 the 21st Praemium Imperiale Award; 2014 the Isamu Noguchi Award.Honored with the Order of the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2010, the Officier des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2013.Selected as Person of Cultural Merit in 2017.Books: “Time Exposed”“Utsutsu na zou”“Sense of Space ” “Origin of Art”“Enoura Kitan”“Kagero Nikki”.

Yoshio SUZUKI Profile

Born in 1958. Graduated from Keio University, Faculty of Law, Department of Politics. Entered Magazine House Co., Ltd. in 1982.
Worked on the editorial boards of Popeye, anan, and Relax, and was deputy editor of Brutus from 2001-2010. Currently, writes and edits art-related articles for magazines, books, and websites, plans and publicizes exhibitions, and provides consulting services for corporate strategies centered on art. Co-editor of “Takashi Murakami’s Superflat Collection,” “Korin & Modern Art,” “teamLab tte Nanimono? (meaning: Who is teamLab?),” “Cartier, Crystallization of Time,” etc. Freelance editor and art journalist. Part-time lecturer at Meiji Gakuin University and Aichi University of the Arts.
