Issey MIYAKE

Clothing designer. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1938. Established the Miyake Design Studio in 1970. Began participating in the Paris Collection in 1973. By applying ideas associated with traditional techniques and cutting-edge technology to the concept of “a piece of cloth,” Miyake has continually created unique clothing. Awarded the Order of Cultural Merit in 2010.

Junko KOSHINO

Born in Kishiwada city, Osaka. Whilst she was a student of a Design Course at Bunka Fashion College, she received the SO-EN Award, known as the gateway award to success for a new fashion designer. She was only 19 years old and the youngest winner of the award. She was based in Tokyo and participated in the Paris Collection from 1978 to 2000. She also held fashion shows all over the world, such as Beijing in 1985, New York (Metropolitan Museum) in 1990, Vietnam in 1994, Cuba in 1996, Poland in 1997 and Myanmar in 2009.

Noritaka Tatehana

Born in Tokyo in 1985 and raised in Kamakura. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Arts and Crafts. In 2010, he founded his own fashion brand, NORITAKA TATEHANA. His works are loved by celebrities in the world, and also exhibited in some museums, The Metropolitan Museum of Art etc. He has been attracting people’s attention not only in the fashion world but also art world.

Eriko Yamaguchi

Born in Saitama in 1981 and graduated from Keio University, Faculty of Policy Management. Entered the graduate school of BRAC University in Bangladesh and studied a Master of Development Studies after working as an intern at an interna-tional organization in Washington DC. Worked as an intern at Dhaka office of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. while attending a night graduate school during her stay for 2 years in Bangladesh. After the 2 years she came back to Japan and founded her company,Motherhouse Co Ltd with the mission “to create a world-wide brand from developing countries”. She has been engaged in designing and producing bags as well as fash-ion goods in Bangladesh and Nepal, and has now opened 1 8 shops in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka and Taiwan etc. She was selected as a Young Global Leader (YGL) 2008, and awarded the Harvard Business School 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year.
